Ring in the Season with Duke’s Holiday Concert

Staff and faculty are invited to festivities in Duke University Chapel on Dec. 6

Celebrate the holidays by joining other Duke colleagues for live holiday music and treats on Dec. 6.

The Raleigh Jazz Orchestra quintet will play tunes such as “Carol of the Bells” and “Frosty the Snowman” in the Duke University Chapel, followed by a reception with small sandwiches, hot cider and sweet treats on the Chapel Quad. The quintet performance begins at 11 a.m. in Duke Chapel.

“The Chapel is beautiful, especially after the restoration, so people can come and see that, and the music is just fun and festive,” said Regina McKoy, program coordinator for Duke Staff and Family Programs. “We are thankful to see our colleagues, enjoy some music and participate in some festivities.”

During the event, employees can enter a free drawing to win four tickets to “Disney on Ice: Follow Your Heart” at Raleigh’s PNC Arena on Dec. 10. The winner will be notified by email or phone after the festivities.

Staff and faculty are encouraged to walk, bike or take the bus to the concert and reception. Campus bus routes and real-time bus tracking can be found on the Parking & Transportation website. Parking will also be available in the Bryan Center Parking Garage off Science Drive for $2 an hour.
