The Week in 60 Seconds: Apps; Podcasts; Jack-o-lanterns

An app developed by behavioral economist Dan Ariely asks questions about inequality in wealth, gender, education and more, to determine what users say a “fair” society would look like. The results for CEO salaries and the wage gap between men and women are already available.
Duke’s new podcast -- called “Zeroing In” -- takes a look at key issues on the election agenda using statistical data. Professor Aaron Chatterji moderates discussions on topics like the gender pay gap and defense spending. Check it out on http://soundcloud.com/DukeUniversity.
Last weekend was Duke Basketball’s annual Countdown to Craziness event. The celebration featured music, intros of the men’s and women’s basketball teams, and an exhibition game.
Finally, if you want to make a Blue Devil jack-o-lantern this Halloween, you can download a template and watch a how-to video on Duke Today. Happy Halloween!
