“Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical” will be the first sensory-friendly Broadway performance at the Durham Performing Arts Center, and Duke employees can save on tickets purchased by noon Saturday.

Sponsored by Duke Health, the Dec. 3 performance will feature a supportive environment for children and adults on the autism spectrum, with designated quiet sections in the lobby and fewer loud noises and flashing lights in the production.

Duke staff and faculty can receive 25 percent off tickets by visiting the Ticketmaster website and using the promo code DUKEHEALTH. The promotion ends at noon July 23.

The performance will begin at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3. Trained volunteers will assist families and individuals when they arrive at the venue and throughout the performance, and guests will be provided with a performance planning guide. The Durham Performing Arts Center recommends that children be at least 4 years old to attend this musical.
