Updated:

As of 7:40 a.m., all lanes of traffic along Cameron Blvd. are now open.

Original post:

A large tree fell across Highway 751/Cameron Blvd. near of the Washington Duke Inn early Tuesday morning.

Crews from Durham City Public Works have responded and are in the process of clearning the tree, but traffic is expected to be impacted during the morning commute. The tree fell between the Washington Duke Inn and Duke University Road. Access along this section of Cameron Blvd. could be impacted through the morning to allow crews and equipment in and out of the area.

Duke University Police are on site assisting with traffic. One lane of traffic is currently open, but commuters are encouraged to use alternative routes Tuesday morning until the tree is cleared and all lanes are open. Updates will be posted as more information becomes available.
