Traffic Advisory: Cameron Blvd/751 Lane Closed
Cleanup of a single-vehicle accident Wednesday morning will take until at least noon
Motorists traveling southbound on Cameron Boulevard/751 will need to detour this morning after a single vehicle accident near the road’s Duke University Road intersection.
During this morning’s commute, a dump truck crashed and struck a utility pole, scattering the pole and debris onto the road at the intersection. Police said no injuries were initially reported. Duke Police said cleanup at the spot of the accident should last until at least noon, but may take place until 2 or 3 p.m. as crews work to restore power and fix the pole.
Barricades have been set up on the southbound lane of Cameron Boulevard at the Science Drive intersection, the entrance to the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. No traffic is allowed through.
However, the northbound lane on Cameron Boulevard remains open. Traffic is allowed from Academy Road and motorists turning right off of Duke University Road.
Duke is working Durham Police to have an officer stationed at the location of the accident to help direct traffic.
