Reinvigorate Your Workout with ‘Fit in 15’

Free employee wellness program returns in August

After a successful session in which 835 faculty and staff signed up to incorporate fitness into their daily lives, the “Fit in 15” program will return in August.

From Aug. 1 to 31, LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke’s employee wellness program, will provide a variety of encouragement to help participants find at least 15 days in August to fit in at least 30 minutes of activity, whether it be walking, running, swimming or strength training. During the inaugural session of the program in May, 58 percent of faculty and staff said they lost or maintained their weight, while almost 62 percent noted they improved their health.

Registration is now open on the LIVE FOR LIFE website. Along with weekly emails with wellness tips, motivation and new workouts to try, participants can join free fitness classes like “full body blast,” line dancing and yoga.

“We are so excited to have Fit in 15 back for August as a way for faculty and staff to ramp up their wellness for the start of a new academic year,” said Taylor Miron, health fitness specialist with LIVE FOR LIFE. “Small, daily efforts are a great way to form healthy habits.”

For successfully completing Fit in 15, employees will receive 50 LIVE FOR LIFE dollars, which can be spent at the LIVE FOR LIFE store on a variety of items, from jump ropes to workout clothing and gear. Participants who record at least 21 days of exercise will also be entered into a raffle to win a gift card to Duke Stores.

Visit the LIVE FOR LIFE website for more information and to register for the program.
