Research and remembrances filled up computer screens for Duke Today readers in 2014, as the Duke community and people from all over the world flocked to Duke’s daily news site.

November’s mid-term elections didn’t just cause a stir for politicians, but a story about Troy Campbell, a Ph.D. candidate at Duke's Fuqua School of Business, also caught the eye of politicos. A study co-authored by Campbell found people will evaluate scientific evidence based on whether they view its policy implications as politically desirable. If they don't, then they tend to deny the problem even exists.

Other top stories weren’t as polarizing, as readers learned about research related to AIDS and celebrated the lives of two Duke students who died in September.
