Welcome to the Week at Duke in 60 Seconds.

This past weekend, Duke students celebrated the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha. The campus event -- hosted by the Muslim Student Association -- featured traditional food and dance, spoken word and a cappella by Samaa.

In another weekend celebration, the Duke community brought their pets of all shapes and sizes to the annual Blessing of the Animals service at Duke Chapel, in celebration of the feast day of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals.

A new video series out this week features interviews with Duke alumni like Grant Hill and Dean Sue about their forever passions. Check out http://whatsyourforever.dukealumni.com for all the videos.

Finally, Duke’s newest biomedical research facility, the Carmichael building, was unveiled last week. The former tobacco warehouse is part of a larger development project near downtown to spur science and technology in the community.
