Ballet Preljocaj

The 2014 Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for lifetime achievement recipient, Angelin Preljocaj, brings his company, Ballet Preljocaj, to DPAC July 11 to perform Empty moves (parts I, II, and III). Empty moves is composed of actions and movements inspired by the words and phonemes read by John Cage at the Teatro Lirico in Milan, recorded live on December 2, 1977.Established in 1984, Ballet Preljocaj is now composed of 27 permanent dancers and presents more than 100 performances a year in France and abroad. Since the creation of his company, Angelin Preljocaj has created 45 choreographic works, ranging from solos to large group numbers.
