Traffic Alert: Repaving May Cause Delays on Duke University Road [Updated]

Road work expected to take several weeks

[UPDATE 4/17]Crews will start paving Duke University Road on Thursday, April 24 and once it’s completed, will move onto Cameron Boulevard. Weather permitting, all paving will finish in Friday, April 25. Striping will occur the week of April 28.

Original story as follows:

Motorists traveling along Duke University Road between Anderson Street and Cameron Boulevard may experience delays in the coming weeks.

Road milling and repaving will be taking place in the area as part of the completion of the installation of a new natural gas pipeline. PSNC Energy Company began work last summer to install the new pipe to provide an improved gas supply to Duke.

Road milling work is expected to take place along Cameron Boulevard on Wednesday, April 16. Once the road has been milled, crews will begin repaving of the section of Duke University Road. Assuming no weather delays, the repaving work is expected to take three days, and then restriping of the road will be done.

During the project, crews will be on hand to direct traffic when a lane is closed.
