Swift Avenue Block to Close April 4-7

No traffic will be allowed to pass through 300 Swift Ave.

Motorists traveling along Swift Avenue this weekend will need to detour around a construction site that will block through traffic at 300 Swift Ave. as crews disassemble a large crane.

One block of Swift Avenue - from Hull Avenue to Caswell Place - will be closed from noon on Friday, April 4 until 6 a.m. on Monday, April 7. A detour for two-way traffic will be set up to go around the closed area using Powe Street to connect between Hull Avenue and Caswell Place. See this map for full information.

Duke employees who need to access Hull Avenue for pick-up or drop-off at The Little School at Duke are still able to access that road. Swift Avenue is only being blocked off between Hull and Powe Street. Access to Hull Avenue is still available at the Swift-Hull intersection. Motorists traveling from Broad Street onto Swift may need to use the detour to get around construction.

Barricades will be placed at both ends of the road closure, which will prevent Duke's C2 bus route from its regular stop on Swift Avenue outside Town House Apartments on the afternoon of Friday, April 4 only. The C2 weekend service doesn't offer pickup/drop-off at the Swift Avenue stop.

Duke community members can find alternative bus routes and track buses in real-time using the Transloc website.
