Student videos highlight Duke faculty and students taking on great challenges

The Duke University Co-Lab challenged students to explore Duke come up with short videos about stories of innovation that are happening her on campus.  The result was five videos that showcase Duke students working with faculty members on research that will soon be affecting people's lives.

First place went to Eric Lam's film "The Pratt Pouch."  Eric's film highlights a Duke laboratory that is building the next generation medicine delivery system.

Second prize goes to Bianca Bracht, who’s film "Girls Engineering Change" shines a light on a student non-profit that is helping to close the gender gap in the STEM fields by exposing middle school girls to engineering students at Duke.

Finally, third place prize went to Yasmine Hamdouche and Zan Lowe-Skillern’s piece “The Iconathon Co-Lab Experience”.  They highlighted a Co-Lab event held in October where students created icons to represent popular themes in the future of education.

The Duke Innovation Co-Lab is an on-campus incubator that provides Duke students with opportunities to develop technologies to address large social problems and promote them through creative media projects.  Students from all disciplines are welcome.
