Traffic Advisory: Pipe Install Continues on Cameron Blvd

Work will take place until end of October

Work to install a natural gas pipeline along the southwest portion of West Campus will continue to impact local traffic for at least a few more weeks.

PSNC Energy Company, which is in charge of the construction, said that crews installing the pipeline are now done working on Duke University Road and have moved to Cameron Boulevard. Installation has begun near the Cameron Boulevard-Duke University Road intersection and will move north toward the 15-501 overpass.

Work will close down one east-bound lane through October, when work is expected reach the overpass. However, all four lanes on Cameron Boulevard will be open during football game days hosted on West Campus, which includes games Sept. 21 and 28 and Oct. 12.

During all work times, crews will be on-hand to direct traffic. Work will continue to take place during daytime hours but may require overnight and weekend work on an as-needed basis.
