Everyone's Invited to Forever Duke Block Party -- Mon. Aug. 26

All Duke students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends are invited to kick off the new academic year with live music and food at the Duke Alumni Association's 6th annual Forever Duke Block Party Monday, Aug. 26.

The event is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. outside Forlines House, 614 Chapel Dr.

Motorists should avoid the Chapel Drive extension between Duke University Road and the traffic circle, beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26. That extension of Chapel Drive will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The celebration is open to the entire Duke community and will include a musical performance by Point Break, ForeverDuke-themed giveaways for students, a men’s basketball ticket raffle for alumni, as well as free food and a good time for all.  In past years some 3,000 people have attended the annual event.

The party will be held rain or shine, but may be suspended if there is thunder and lightning.  In case of inclement weather, go to the Facebook Event to check the event status.
