Crime Alert: Armed Robbery Reported at Duke Gardens

Updated 1:50 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013:

Duke Police have now had the opportunity to interview the victim, who was not injured, and determined that the incident occurred near the Lewis Street entrance to Duke Gardens, not near Anderson Street as initially reported.

Police also have a more detailed description of the suspects:

Suspect 1: dark complexion, about 5'8" tall with a thin build. He is about 17-20 years old and was wearing a black shirt, black pants and a hat or rag on his head. He carried a silver handgun.

Supect 2: medium complexion, about 5'11" tall with a medium build. He is described as being about 17-20 years old and was wearing black pants and a black shirt.

Updated 1:20 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013:

An armed robbery was reported at 12:55 p.m. at Duke Gardens near Anderson Street.

There are two suspects, one reportedly standing about 5'11" tall with a large build, the other standing about 5'6" tall with a thin build. One suspect had a knife, and the other had a handgun. They were last seen heading from the Lewis Street area of Duke Gardens north toward Erwin Road. 

This is the second armed robbery incident in or near Duke Gardens recently. A similar incident occurred during the afternoon on Monday, July 15. Police received today a sketch of the suspects from the July 15 incident. At this time, a link has not been established between the two incidents.
