Duke Awards Alumni Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship

Award recognizes achievements of child or grandchild of Duke alumni

Max Freid Kramer, a graduate of Henry B. Plant High School in Tampa, Fla., has been named an Alumni Endowed Undergraduate Scholar.

The Duke Alumni Association established The Alumni Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship in 1979 to recognize the academic and personal achievements of children or grandchildren of Duke alumni who are accepted for undergraduate admission to Duke.

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement, leadership performance and meritorious activity outside the classroom.

The Alumni Endowed Scholarship consists of the following:

  • A scholarship covering tuition, room, board and mandatory fees for eight semesters of undergraduate academic studies, during which the scholar must remain in good standing. The scholarship is available for a four-year undergraduate program.
  • An opportunity to participate in a summer-abroad course valued at up to  $6,500.
  • An opportunity to meet with other scholarship recipients in an informal program that is conducted during each academic year.

Kramer, of Tampa, Fla., is the son of Gerri and Jeff Kramer.
