Donate Unwanted Items During Move Out

Students can donate any items they no longer want as they move

Every year Duke Sanitation and Recycling Services (DSRS) partners with Housing, Dining, and Residence Life (HDRL) and local charities to offer Duke Students moving off campus a convenient way to donate reusable but unwanted items. Over the years Move Out for Charity has ensured that thousands of tons of materials have been reused by the community instead of going in the landfill. This year Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers (TROSA) and Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina are the local charities receiving donations.Items that can be donated*: furniture, bedding, appliance, clothing, shoes, non-perishable food items, office supplies, and other reusable items in good condition.Collection Locations:WestKeohane - 4A 201, 4B 401, 4D 301 LR, 4E (lower lounge)Kilgo - O, J, N, K commonsCrowell - G, CC EE commonsCraven - A, C commonds, D (2nd floor), F (kitchen)Edens - 1B, 1A, 1C, 2A, 2C, 3A, 3B loungesWannamaker - WA1 (Towerview Rd. side), WA4 (Craven side)Few - FF101, GG001, HH101EastAlspaugh Commons - AL1RCMBasset Commons - BA1RCMBrown Commons - BR1RCMPegram Commons - PG1RCMAycock Commons - AY112CMGiles Commons - GL1RCMJarvis Commons - JA112CMWilson Commons - WH114CMGA Commons - GA102CMSouthgate Commons - SG103CMBlackwell Commons - BL122CMRandolph Commons - RA118CMEpworth Commons - EP103CMBell Tower library - BT218CMCentral (Laundry Rooms)*208 Alexander217 Anderson1909 Erwin1706 Pace2017 Yearby*On Central Campus please call Goodwill at 919-493-1182 to schedule a pick up for furniture and large appliances. If you have any questions please contact Arwen Buchholz (Recycling and Waste Reduction Coordinator) at 919-660-1448 or arwen.buchholz@duke.edu.
