Duke Winter Break Transit Schedule

Duke buses will not run on Christmas and New Year's Day

With students, faculty and staff away from campus during winter break, Duke Parking and Transportation Services will adjust its transit schedule and parking lot availability.

Adjumstments will be made to bus schedules during the break, which runs from Dec. 17 to Jan. 6. During that time, most bus routes will keep their usual service, except the C-1 bus route won't be available and the C-2 route will stop service at 9 p.m. No Duke transit services, including van services, will operate on Christmas Day or New Year's Day on the University or Health System campuses, and there will also be no weekend campus service until all routes return to their regular schedule Jan. 7. The Robertson Scholars route will not run from Dec. 17 to Jan. 6.

A full list of bus schedule adjustments during winter break is available here.

Parking at Duke around Christmas will also be adjusted, allowing for free parking in all patient and visitor areas of PG1, PG2 and PG3 from Dec. 22 to 25. From Dec. 26 to 28, PG1 and PG2 will resume normal permitted parking from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PG3 will continue to be free. The Eye Center visitor parking area will require a fee throughout the winter holidays.

During Duke's winter break, PG4 will first have normal permitted parking from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Dec. 17 and 21 before opening for free parking between Dec. 22 and Jan. 1, except for times when special events occur. Fees will be charged during special events.
