As the Duke football team gets ready to take on Florida International University this Saturday, staff and faculty still have time to get free tickets to the game as part of the Employee Kickoff Celebration.

Duke employees have so far requested about 13,000 tickets as part of the event, which features a catered meal, family-friendly games, music and up to four free tickets to the season's first football game at Wallace Wade Stadium on Sept. 1. Employees can register for tickets up until noon the day of the game.

With a nearly or completely full stadium expected, Duke Athletics and Parking and Transportation Services are advising faculty and staff to plan ahead for gameday.

As Blue Devil fans prepare for this week's gridiron action, here are tips to help prepare:

Parking/ShuttlesParking is free for Duke employees who present a valid 2013 or 2014 Duke parking permit. Otherwise, parking costs $10 (cash only). Visit GoDuke.com for directions on how to get to public parking lots.

To make it easier for fans to get to the game, Duke Parking and Transportation Services will run shuttles from off-site public parking lots, where employees are encouraged to park. Shuttles will travel between the H Lot and PGI to the Chapel Drive circle in front of Duke Chapel. Shuttles will run from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (or until one hour after the game) every 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic flow. Pick-up locations will be the intersections of Flowers Drive/Yearby Avenue and Flowers Drive/Trent Drive. The drop-off location will be the intersection of Flowers Drive/Trent Drive.

Additional public parking will be available in the Chemistry and Circuit Drive lots, but these lots will not include shuttle service. General public parking for persons with disabilities will be located in the B-2, B-4 and B-7 portions of the Blue Zone. An accessible lift-equipped van will be available for individuals needing wheelchair lift assistance.

Staff will be available at each parking lot location to assist visitors. Check out Duke Athletics' "A-Z Gameday Guide" for more traffic and parking information.

Gameday informationDuke Athletics maintains an official gameday Twitter account that will provide up-to-the-minute information on parking, traffic and stadium operations at twitter.com/duke_gameday. Fans can check the account for news and write to the account with questions.

Keep cheering on the Blue DevilsIn addition to free tickets to this week's game, faculty and staff can purchase deeply discounted tickets for the remainder of home games with the 2012-2013 Employee Athletic Pass, presented by the Duke Federal Credit Union. The pass costs $88 per reserved seating ticket to football games, a savings of $137 per ticket for seating between the north end zone and 35-yard line (sections seven to 10). In addition to tickets to home football games, the pass also offers discounted tickets for women's basketball home games at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

For more information about ticket plans, call the Duke Athletics' ticket office at (919) 681-2583, visit GoDuke.com or email duketix@duaa.duke.edu.
