9/11 Memorial Trees Replanted Outside Keohane Quad

A grove of trees commemorating the six Duke
alumni who died during the 9/11 attacks in 2001 are back in place outside of
Keohane Quad.

During construction of the K4 residence hall,
the trees were removed and stored in a greenhouse to protect them. They were
returned to the space on Thursday, along with a memorial plaque.

The trees were planted in honor of: Michael
Morgan Taylor '81, Frederick C.
Rimmele III, M.D. '94, A. Todd Rancke '81, Christopher Todd Pitman '93, Peter
Ortale '87, and J. Robinson "Rob" Lenoir '84.

Duke Alumni officials place a wreath at the
site of every 9/11 anniversary.
