Duke Transit Schedule, Parking Adjusted For Holidays

No Duke buses will run on Thanksgiving and from Dec. 23-26

With students, faculty and staff away from campus during holiday breaks,
Duke Parking and Transportation Services will adjust its transit schedule and
parking lot availability during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

There will be no bus service Thursday, Nov. 24.
Health System routes will operate on Friday, Nov. 25.  The C-2 route will run until 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov.
26, and Sunday, Nov. 27. Regular service resumes Sunday, Nov. 27.  The
Thanksgiving transit service schedule is here.

For those parking on campus, parking is available at no charge in all patient
and visitor areas of Duke garages - including PG1, PG2, PG3, PG4 and the Eye Center Lot - on Thursday, Nov. 24,
and Friday, Nov. 25. Access will be comparable to usual weekend parking.
Patient, visitor and employee parking will return to normal on Saturday,
Nov. 26.

Parking offices will be closed on Nov. 24 and 25 in observance of the
Thanksgiving holidays.

Similar adjustments will be made to bus schedules during winter break, which
runs from Dec. 19 to Jan. 10. During that time, most bus routes will keep their
usual service, except the C-1 bus route
won't be available and the C-2 route will
stop service at 9 p.m. There will also be no weekend campus service until all
routes return to the regular schedule Jan. 11.
The Robertson
route will not run from Dec. 19 to Jan. 8. Reduced service from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. will
be effective Jan. 9 and 10, and normal service resumes Jan. 11.

During the Christmas holiday, Duke will not run any bus routes from Dec.
23 to 26.

Parking at Duke during Christmas will also be adjusted, allowing for free
parking in all patient and visitor areas of PG1, PG2, PG3 and the Eye Center Lot from Dec. 23 to 26.

From Dec. 27 to 29, PG1 and PG2 will resume normal permitted
parking from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. During that time, the Eye Center Lot will open from 8:30
a.m. to 5 p.m.  PG3 will continue to be free.

During Duke's winter break, PG4 will
first have normal permitted parking from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Dec. 19 and
22 before opening for free parking between Dec. 23 and Jan. 2, except for times
when special events occur. Fees will be charged during special events.

For parking areas, please see the campus map.
