The changes include reassigning responsibility for Parking and Transportation and University Housekeeping, both of which reported to Trask last year. Parking and Transportation was assigned to Kyle Cavanaugh, who was hired in 2009 as vice president of Human Resources.

"His title is being changed to vice president for administration, recognizing that his responsibilities now include considerably more than human resources," Trask said. In addition to Human Resources and Parking and Transportation, Cavanaugh also has responsibility for Duke Police and Disability Management. He also serves as Duke's emergency coordinator. University Housekeeping will fall under the leadership of John Noonan, whose title is being changed to vice president for Facilities. "John was the vice president at Brown before coming to Duke; this puts him back at that level," Trask said.
