Brightleaf Square evacuated due to suspicious packages

A Duke University office located in Brightleaf Square in downtown Durham received two suspicious packages in the mail Monday morning.

Law enforcement agencies have responded to the scene, and Brightleaf Square has been evacuated as a precaution.

"We have been in contact with managers for the 120 Duke employees located in Brightleaf Square and are coordinating with law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of our employees in the area," said Kyle Cavanaugh, emergency coordinator for Duke.
