Get in the game with the Employee Athletic Pass

Duke employees can now purchase the 2011-12 Employee Athletic Pass to all home football and women's basketball games.

With four ACC rivals and a potential Heisman Trophy candidate coming to Wallace Wade Stadium in 2011, Duke football fans have something to cheer about - and get ready for.Duke employees can now purchase the 2011-12 Employee Athletic Pass to all home football and women's basketball games. The football season kicks off Sept. 3 when Duke hosts the University of Richmond; the women's basketball team starts the 2011-12 regular season in November.As part of the annual Employee Athletic Pass, presented by the Duke Credit Union, employees can save $560 on a family season ticket plan for football that includes four tickets to each home game for a total cost of $280. Faculty and staff can also buy a single season ticket for $140, a savings of $70 from the regular price. Each extra seat added to either plan costs $70 each. All Athletic Pass seats are in sections 7 to 10 of Wallace Wade Stadium, which span from the 35 to 50-yard lines. The employee pass for the women's basketball games is $50, and the tickets are general admission. "We believe that the Employee Athletic Pass is one of the best deals in all of college athletics and certainly in the ACC," said Mike Forman, assistant director of marketing and promotions for Duke Athletics. "For only $10 per ticket per game with our family pass, Duke employees can enjoy the game day football atmosphere - the Blue Devil team walk, inflatable games, live music and face painting in Blue Devil Alley which all culminates with great games in Wallace Wade Stadium. Fans also get the chance to watch one of the best women's basketball teams in the country on the cheap too."Last year, Duke Athletics maxed out sales of the Employee Athletic Pass at 4,000. Of that number, Athletic Pass holders also bought 1,016 discounted seats to women's basketball games. Overall, football season ticket sales were up by 40 percent from 2009 to 2010.In addition to 2011 games against ACC foes like Florida State and Virginia Tech, Duke football will also host Stanford University Sept. 10, which features 2010 Heisman Trophy runner-up Andrew Luck, a second-team All-American quarterback in 2010. Those three schools - Stanford (4th), Virginia Tech (16th) and Florida State (17th) - were ranked in last season's final Associated Press poll.As an Employee Athletic Pass ticket holder, fans also have exclusive opportunities to buy tickets to men's basketball games. Athletic Pass holders also receive one free gift item per ticket, like a hat or T-shirt.Faculty and staff can purchase the Employee Athletic Pass online or by calling the ticket office at (919) 681-2583.
