Rains Bring Flooding to Keohane D First Floor

Seven students face temporary relocation

Heavy rains in Durham over the past week resulted in flooding in Keohane D residence hall that displaced seven students, five of whom are early arrivals already living on the first floor of the hall.

The students will be temporarily relocated to Central Campus while repairs to drywall and other materials on the first floor are completed.

Joe Gonzalez, associate dean for residence life, said that as of Wednesday, he expects work to be completed no later than Labor Day, and likely earlier. Upon completion of work, all affected students will be moved back into Keohane D, he said.
