The Future of the Web and Learning

Many faculty at Duke use new media to enhance teaching and learning

As Internet leaders from around the world gather this week in Raleigh at the World Wide Web Conference (WWW2010), a panel of Duke faculty will discuss today how they are engaging new media technologies both in and out of the classroom. They will join leaders from Google, Facebook, eBay and other Internet companies in discussing the evolution of the web.

From the Iranian election protests to Black popular culture and the world soccer championships, Duke professors Cathy Davidson, Laurent Dubois, Mark Anthony Neal, Negar Mottahedeh and Tony O'Driscoll have used blogs, Twitter and YouTube to enhance their teaching and research. Their panel is part of the FutureWeb conference, held in conjunction with WWW2010 this week in Raleigh.
