All-Acoustic Los Lobos and Leo Kottke Live in Concert at Duke

Three time Grammy-winners Los Lobos and renowned guitar legend Leo Kottke will perform all acoustic sets as part of a double-bill at Duke University on Thursday, March 25, at 8 pm in Page Auditorium.

Leo Kottke has distinguished himself as one of the most recognizable guitarists in the US today. Known for his innovative playing style and for combining influences from the old-time blues to Classical composition, Kottke has recorded over a dozen albums and worked with artists such as Lyle Lovett, Margo Timmons, and others. New York Times music critic Ben Ratliff writes of a recent performance that it was "a deft and conceptually cross-woven performance by a musician whose remarkable facility remains as strong."

Chicano rock band Los Lobos carved out a revered place in the popular US music scene for combining rock, country, R&B with traditional Spanish styles such as boleros and norteños. About their 2006 release "The Town and the City," Rolling Stone magazine says "This is what happens when five guys create a magical sound, then stick together for thirty years to see how far it can take them."
