Delbridge wins New Writers Award

The Great Lakes Colleges Association announced that Melissa Delbridge, an archivist in the Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library, has won their 2009 New Writers Award for creative non-fiction with her memoir, Family Bible (University of Iowa Press, 2008). Now in its 40th year, the New Writers Award seeks to recognize promising writers and provide undergraduate students an opportunity to meet with writers in early stages of their careers. During the coming year, Delbridge will give a series of readings and lectures at the 12 member colleges, including Oberlin, Antioch, and Albion.

Delbridge has also been chosen by the University of Iowa Press as their Author of the Year.
