Get Recycled Office Supplies for Free

Duke Recycles holds "Take It or Leave It" day Wednesday

Want a computer power cord, three-ring binder or other office supplies at no cost?

Staff, faculty and students can pick up or drop off office and other supplies at Duke Recycles' "Take It or Leave It" table from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday on the West Campus Plaza. In the event of rain, the table will be inside the Bryan Center on the first floor.

Duke Recycles recently launched the new program to promote the reuse of office and school supplies that range from surge protectors to Chemistry lab kits.

"Instead of throwing away those old folders, binders and other office supplies or school supplies, bring them to us -- there's probably someone else on campus who can use them," said Jessica Moore, a staff assistant with Duke Recycles. "It's a fantastic way to keep things out of the landfill."

Moore said "Take It or Leave It" tables will be set up on the third Wednesday of each month, rotating between the West Campus Plaza and the East Union building on East Campus. The first table at East Union is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 16.
