Brown also hit last week's chart with Merry Christmas, Baby, his release of Christmas music with trumpter Roy Codrington. Both albums were listed by JazzWeek as being among the top new albums being added to playlists at jazz radio stations across the country.

Terms of Art is a tribute album to the great Art Blakely and his band the Jazz Messengers. On the album bassist Brown is back by Codrington and three others.

Brown who is director of the Duke Jazz Ensemble, said he was excited by the response to the albums. "It is a huge, huge blessing," he said.
