Parking and Traffic Alert - Saturday, November 15

DURHAM, N.C. – Fans traveling to Duke University on Saturday, November 15 for the Duke and Virginia Tech Football game at 12:00 PM and Duke and Fairfield Men's Basketball game at 8:00 PM should be aware of the following parking and traffic alerts.  Please review the information below and leave extra time in your travels to avoid delays.  For a full parking and traffic map and directions to disability, Iron Duke, and general public parking areas - visit www.goduke.com/gameday and review the Football and Men's Basketball A-Z Game Day guides.  

SATURDAY PARKING ALERTS
• Football Iron Duke Parking – Football Iron Duke Parking Permits are valid for parking from 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Men's Basketball Iron Duke Parking Permits will not be accepted at Football traffic checkpoints or parking lot entrances during this time.  Iron Dukes attending both events should relocate their cars to their assigned Men's Basketball parking lot following the Football game.  For directions to all Iron Duke Parking Lots on Football game days as well as a parking/traffic map, please visit www.goduke.com/gameday, click on the Football A-Z Guide link and scroll down to Parking Information.

• Football General Public Parking Hours – Football General Public Parking in the Jogging Trail and Chemistry Lots will open at 7:00 AM. The remaining General Public Lots, including parking for persons with disabilities in the Blue Zone Lots, will open at 8:00 AM.  There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  For directions to all General Public Parking Lots on Football game days as well as a parking/traffic map, please visit www.goduke.com/gameday, click on the Football A-Z Guide link and scroll down to Parking Information.

• Football Recreational/Oversized Vehicle (RV/OV) Parking Hours – Football RV/OV Parking in the Small Circuit Lot on Circuit Drive will operate normally.  Access to the RV/OV lot will begin on Friday, November 14th from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.  The lot will re-open at 6:00 AM on Saturday, November 15th.  There is a $50 charge to park – permits can be purchased online at www.goduke.com/tickets or CASH ONLY at the lot entrance.  For directions to the RV/OV Parking Lot on Football game days as well as a parking/traffic map, please visit www.goduke.com/gameday, click on the Football A-Z Guide link and scroll down to Parking Information.

• Men's Basketball Iron Duke Parking – Men's Basketball Iron Duke Parking Permits are valid for game day parking beginning at 5:00 PM.  Football Iron Duke Parking Permits will not be accepted at Men's Basketball traffic checkpoints or lot entrances after 4:00 PM.  Iron Dukes attending both events should relocate their cars to their assigned Men's Basketball parking lot following the Football game.  For directions to all Iron Duke Parking Lots on Men's Basketball game days as well as a parking/traffic map, please visit www.goduke.com/gameday and click on the Men's Basketball A-Z Guide link and scroll down to Parking Information.

• Men's Basketball General Public Parking – Men's Basketball General Public Parking Lots at the Circuit Lots on Circuit Drive and Parking Garage 9 (PG9) on Research Drive will open at 5:00 PM.  General Public Parking for persons with disabilities in the Science Drive Visitors Lot on Science Drive will open at 5:00 PM.  There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  For directions to General Public Parking Lots on Men's Basketball game days as well as a parking/traffic map, please visit www.goduke.com/gameday and click on the Men's Basketball A-Z Guide link and scroll down to Parking Information.

SATURDAY TRAFFIC ALERTS
• Football Traffic Checkpoints – For all Duke Football home games, checkpoints are set-up on the roads surrounding campus to keep only necessary traffic on the interior roads of campus.  Checkpoints will become active on Saturday, November 15th at 9:00 AM.  All Football Iron Duke Parking Permit Holders must have their Football Iron Duke Parking Permit hanging from their rearview mirror as they approach for access at these checkpoints and their designated lots.  Men's Basketball Iron Duke Parking Permits will not be given access at Football traffic checkpoints.

Checkpoints are located at the following intersections:
• Intersection of Science Drive and NC 751/Cameron Blvd.
• Intersection of Towerview Road and Erwin Road
• Intersection of Chapel Drive and Duke University Road
• Intersection of Towerview Road and Duke University Road
• Intersection of NC 751/Cameron Blvd. and Duke University Road

• Football Duke University Road Closure – For all Duke Football home games, Duke University Road is closed between Anderson Street and NC 751/Cameron Boulevard to all traffic except Football Iron Duke Parking Permit holders.  The closure on Saturday, November 15th will begin at 9:00 AM and re-open to all traffic at 12:00 PM.  The road will close again from approximately 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM.  

• Football Towerview Drive Closure between Card Gym Lot and Towerview Roundabout – Towerview Drive will be closed from the Card Gym Lot to the Towerview Drive Roundabout from 9:00 AM and re-open to all traffic at 12:00 PM.  The road will close again from approximately 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM.  Fans entering campus at these times should plan their access routes accordingly knowing that vehicles cannot pass through this section of Towerview Drive.

• Men's Basketball Traffic Checkpoints – For all Duke Men's Basketball home games, checkpoints are set-up on the roads surrounding campus to keep only necessary traffic on the interior roads of campus.  Checkpoints will become active on Saturday, November 15th at 5:00 PM.  All Iron Duke Parking Permit Holders must have their Men's Basketball Iron Duke Parking Permit hanging from their rearview mirror as they approach for access at these checkpoints and their designated lots.  Football Iron Duke Parking Permits will not be given access at the Men's Basketball traffic checkpoints.

• I-40/I-440 Construction – The I-40/I-440 area of South Raleigh will have travel lanes closed for months at a time starting Fall 2013.  The complete rebuild could take up to three (3) years to complete.
