Meet Casey Black

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's lacrosse head coach Kerstin Kimel welcomed the addition of 11 players to the Blue Devil program this fall, with 10 freshmen and one transfer student joining the squad for the 2014 campaign.

Attack l Lutherville, Md. l McDonogh

Prior to Duke: Black comes to Durham from Lutherville, Md., where she helped McDonogh earn a No. 1 national ranking and remain undefeated for three consecutive seasons. As a senior, she guided her squad to a 22-0 mark and its fifth consecutive conference championship while collecting Under Armour All-America recognition. Tabbed No. 5 on the ESPN Rise list of the top 50 juniors in the class of 2013, Black concluded her prep career with 105 points on 59 goals and 46 assists.

When did you start playing lacrosse?
CB: I started playing lacrosse when I was five years old. My brother, Robby, and I were on the same lacrosse team and I was the only girl on the team!

What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
CB: Winning the 2013 IAAM championship for McDonogh School after being behind the entire game.

Why did you choose Duke?
CB: I chose Duke because of the incredible academics, athletics and coaches.

What are your goals for your collegiate career?
CB: Be the best teammate I can be and to win a national championship.

Who has had the biggest impact on your life and why?
CB: My parents, who always believed in me no matter what.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully starting a family.
