DURHAM, N.C.-  Recently, GoDuke.com sat down with senior rower Rory Erickson-Kulas to learn more about the Naugatuck, Conn., native. 

GoDuke.com: Do you have any embarrassing music on your iPod?
REK: So much, I have a lot of Justin Bieber.

GoDuke.com: What is your favorite movie?
REK: "Planet Earth".

GoDuke.com: Do you have any superstitions or pre-meet rituals?
REK: Well before games, I get really excited so I listen to classical music to calm myself down. 

GoDuke.com: What is on your bucket list?
REK: I want to go to a country where I don't know anything and live there for a year.

GoDuke.com: What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
REK: Chicken pot pie.

GoDuke.com: Can you cook? If so, what are you good at making?
REK: Well cooking might be a strong word, but I am really really great at making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  It's a real skill.  I can also make a mean fried egg and cheese sandwich, which I have taught several girls on the team.

GoDuke.com: Where do you like to study?
REK: The Linc.

GoDuke.com: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
REK: Hopefully as a lawyer in a firm.

GoDuke.com: Who has had the most impact on your life?
REK: Definitely my mom, she just is a really great role model.

GoDuke.com: Describe Coach Robyn Horner in one word.
REK: Energetic.

GoDuke.com: Who would you trade places with for a day?
REK: The President of the United States.

GoDuke.com: I wish I knew how to ______.
REK: Speak Chinese.

GoDuke.com: Who is your dream date?
REK: Brian Williams.

GoDuke.Com: What is your worst habit?
REK: Swearing.

GoDuke.com: What was your first car?
REK: A dodge caravan that was passed down through the family named Gerdy.

GoDuke.com: Do you have an iphone, blackberry or droid?
REK: I don't, but I did recently get unlimited text messaging.

GoDuke.com: What is your favorite restaurant in Durham?
REK: Elmo's.
