Continuous Coverage: Counting Down to Duke vs. UNC II

DURHAM, N.C. - The first Duke vs. North Carolina game this season was one for the ages.

Now, GoDuke.com is preparing you for Round 2 of the 2011-2012 season.

Over the next few days, we'll take a look at three different story lines as the Blue Devils prepare to take on the Tar Heels Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

First, we'll document the point of view of this year's freshmen. For Austin Rivers, Quinn Cook, Alex Murphy, Marshall Plumlee and Michael Gbinije, the buzzer-beating road win in Chapel Hill just a few weeks ago was their first impression of what the Duke/UNC rivalry is about.

Not a bad introduction to the best matchup in college sports.

Then, GoDuke.com will talk to the current players about their memories from Duke's last three wins in the series: A come-from-behind regular-season win last year at home, the 2011 ACC Tournament championship game, and the February 8 game in Chapel Hill this season.

Finally, we'll dive deeper into the final minutes of this season's thrilling win over North Carolina at the Smith Center - beginning with Tyler Thornton's three-pointer with 2:09 left to pull Duke to within 82-75 and ending with Austin Rivers' game-winning bucket from downtown over the out-stretched arm of Carolina center Tyler Zeller.

Check back here each day at 7 a.m. for the release of the latest video and be sure to share them with Duke fans everywhere.

If radio is more your thing, GoDuke.com has you covered there as well.

Each week you can catch Duke men's basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski on his radio show, "Basketball and Beyond with Coach K," Wednesdays at 7 p.m. ET. The program is also rebroadcast on Saturdays & Sundays at 6 a.m. ET.

Each week, Coach K and co-host Dave Sims cover the state of college basketball. You can hear interviews with business leaders, entertainers, as well as athletes, plus get a personal perspective on Krzyzewski's principles for life on and off the court.

This week, of course the show focused on the Duke-North Carolina rivalry. Coach K caught up with four players who were prominent figures in a number of the games – Duke's Grant Hill and David Henderson and UNC's Eric Montross and Brad Daugherty. Check out what they had to say about the mutual respect the two schools have for each other and their favorite memories of the Duke-UNC series.
