Relax and recharge with Duke Student Wellness Center’s weekly activities throughout the fall.

The center offers meditation, yoga, tai chi, knitting and tea tasting classes each week. New additions this semester include learning close-up magic, painting, note writing and gardening.

Activities, which are scheduled through Dec. 10, are free and open to students, staff and faculty. All skill levels are welcome.

Justin Sharpe, associate director of the Student Wellness Center, said every class is rooted in mindfulness to help manage stress and reduce anxiety.

“We provide a wide variety of activities because not everyone’s definition of wellness means practicing yoga or going to the gym,” he said. “It could also mean painting or learning how to knit.”
