Three Elected to Executive Committee of the Academic Council

Women sweep spots as they join three others on committee

It was a clean sweep for women faculty members at the April Academic Council meeting as the council elected three new members to its executive committee.

The new members are Sally Kornbluth, associate professor of pharmacology and cancer biology; Elizabeth Livingston, associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology; and Marjorie McElroy, professor and former chair of economics. All three will serve two-year terms beginning July 1.

The three women join three other women on the executive committee. Continuing members are Julie Edell Britton of the FuquaSchool, Linda Franzoni of mechanical engineering and Laurie Shannon of English.

The final two members of the committee will be Academic Council Chair Paul Haagen and University Secretary John Staddon.
