Morning Incident on East Campus

Visitor knocked down while walking along path

This morning at 6:40 a.m., a visitor on Duke’s East Campus reported she was grabbed and knocked down by an unknown male on the path surrounding the campus, near the intersection of Broad and Perry streets.

The victim screamed and the suspect left, getting into the driver's seat of a grey sedan, possibly a Honda, Duke Police reported. The victim had a scrape on her arm.

The victim described the suspect as a light skinned black male, with close cut hair, wearing a white or light colored t-shirt and blue jeans. He was described as between 30 and 40 years old and having a medium build.

The car was seen traveling towards Markham Avenue.
