The Duke Blue Devil in Space

How high can the Duke Blue Devil go? We're a small group of Duke MBA students who wanted to find out. With the help of an innovation grant from the Duke Innovation Co-Lab, we sent a Duke Blue Devil bobblehead to the upper atmosphere. For our launch, we used a GoPro Hero 4 Black, a 1200g weather balloon and flight computer from High Altitude Sciences, a 6 ft diameter Parachute, a Ricoh Theta S camera, and a Spot Trace GPS tracker. We reached a peak altitude of 75,651 ft and captured some amazing images along the way.
