Update on Student Protest at Duke; Allen Building to be Closed on Monday

Tonight, Duke University continued dialogue with the nine students who have been occupying the second floor lobby of the Allen Building since Friday afternoon.   These discussions will continue on Monday.

In order to facilitate productive dialogue and move towards a peaceful resolution, the nine students will not be subject to student conduct sanctions and legal penalties for their actions.  In addition, it is university policy to prohibit retaliation against students, faculty and staff who express their views.

While these discussions continue, the Allen Building will be closed for all regular business on Monday, April 4, so that the university can ensure the safety of individuals on campus.
