Traffic Advisory: Towerview Road Closings Thursday, Friday
A portion of Towerview Road to close during overnight hours for special events
As part of safety measures for this weekend’s Duke-UNC game and student activities leading up to the game, Duke Police will close a portion of Towerview Road during overnight hours on Thursday and Friday during special events.
From 7:30 p.m. Thursday to 3 a.m. Friday, no traffic will be allowed from the Towerview Road-Wannamaker Drive roundabout about 850 feet northwest to the Towerview-Union Drive intersection. During this time, only emergency vehicles will have access and the Card Gym Lot will not be available for regular use.
The road will reopen during the day Friday before closing again from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday. The same stretch of Towerview will be closed as Thursday. During both overnight closures, Duke Police or security officers will be on-hand.
In addition to the Towerview Road closure, a perimeter will be setup around the Card Gym Lot and K-Ville area outside Wilson Recreation Center during the same overnight hours on Thursday and Friday. During these times, Duke community members are required to show a valid DukeCard ID to Duke Police officers or security guards in order to enter the area.
