Welcome to the week at Duke in 60 seconds.

Duke Senior Catherine Newman has received a prestigious Gates-Cambridge Scholarship, which will cover her graduate degree tuition and living expenses at the University of Cambridge.

Honorary degree recipients for 2016 have been announced. The five recipients, including TV talk show host and Duke alum Charlie Rose, will be honored at Duke’s commencement ceremony.

Duke professor Kerry Haynie says this week’s death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia will likely mean a delay to North Carolina’s primary elections. The state is appealing a federal court ruling on the legality of two congressional districts.

Finally, this year marks the 30th anniversary of K-Ville, a student tradition of tenting for tickets to Duke basketball games. See more in Duke’s K-Ville Kribs series, and tag your photos and memories with #KVille30.
