Bus Route Adjustments for Spring Semester

C4 bus will now wait longer on West Campus to drop-off, pick-up riders

Beginning Jan. 11, Duke Parking and Transportation will roll out service updates to its transit operations for the spring.

Several adjustments are being made to better handle peak morning services:

  • C3: East-Science will begin service earlier at 7:30 a.m. Monday to Friday from East Campus to Science Drive
  • LL: LaSalle Loop schedule will change slightly with 15-minute peak morning service from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. with limited stops between the Heights at LaSalle, Duke Clinic, and Circuit Drive.
  • H2: Hospital Loop schedules have been adjusted slightly from 6:08 to 8:01 a.m. for additional 10-minute service to limited stops between Yearby Street and the Duke Medicine Pavilion.

Transit administrators have also coordinated to add a wait time of two to five minutes for the C4 Central-West route at the West Campus stop outside Duke Chapel.

Alison Carpenter, manager of Duke’s transportation demand management program, said discussions with students emphasized a desire to have longer drop-off and loading times at West Campus’ busiest bus stop.

“So now if you’re coming out of Perkins Library or down the quad and you see the C4, there’s a better chance you’ll catch the bus before it leaves,” she said.

Duke community members will also see several bus stop changes this spring:

  • Circuit Drive at the North Building has been relocated to Research Drive at LSRC.
  • Campus Drive at the Central Campus eastbound stop has been moved closer to Oregon Street.
  • Stops on both sides of the Chapel Drive extension, between Campus Drive and Duke University Road, have shifted with other transit system stops to mid-block.

Construction detours remain in effect for PR1 and C3 until further notice. Updated service schedules and maps are available at parking.duke.edu/bus
