Duke Students Build Meals for Local Food Pantries to Mark MLK Celebration

Duke student volunteers pose for a group portrait after packing meals at the Phail Wynn Jr. Student Services Center at Durham Technical Community College Monday during the MLK Day of Service. More than 200 Duke student members of the Duke Greek community joined others from the Duke and Durham community to package soup mixes, rice bags and bean bags to fill food pantry shelves in the Triangle area.

The meals will be distributed to partner agencies working to end hunger in Durham,Orange, Wake and Johnston Counties. The volunteer event was open to all members of the Duke-Durham community.
