9 Gifts to Spread Duke Cheer

Duke Stores offer holiday presents for family and friends; special sale Dec 7 to 15

The shopping days are dwindling for those yet to finish buying holiday gifts, but instead of getting stuck in traffic and long checkout lines at the mall, Duke community members can find ideas on campus.

With locations on East, Central and West campuses, Duke Stores offers a wide variety of unique products for Duke fans, art aficionados and animal lovers.

“With all the pressures thrown at us during the holiday season, we try to be an easy, convenient option for students, faculty and staff,” said Jim Wilkerson, director of trademark licensing and stores operations. “Our locations are spread all over campus and offer such a variety of gift options, it’s an ideal way to save time and effort.”

From Dec. 7 to 15, Duke Stores is offering 20 percent off clothing and gift items with some minor exclusions. The sale takes place at the University Store, Medical Center Bookstore, Duke Team Store, Terrace Shop, Nasher Museum of Art store, Provisions at Duke Integrative Medicine, Divinity Bookshop and the East Campus Store.

Additional gifts are offered as donations increase in value and a full list can be found here.

Every donation provides food, veterinary care and even maintenance to radio collars that insure the safety of free-ranging lemurs. Adoptions can be made online. Through Dec. 11, employees can save 20 percent on adoption packages by contacting Janice Kalin at (919) 401-7252.
