Habitat house

Oct. 14, Habitat for Humanity and the Tu-Yi family celebrated the opening of the family’s Habitat house, the fifth built by the Duke University Habitat Club with financial support from Office of Durham and Regional Affairs.

An average of 65 Duke undergraduates have worked on each of the five house, with 15 students working for each of the 18 Saturdays needed to build a Habitat house.

The ceremony included remarks by Bruce Puckett of the Durham Habitat Club and Neil Hoef of Durham and Regional Affairs. Sam Miglarese, also of Durham and Regional Affairs, offered a blessing of the house.
