Find Health Info at Wellness Expos

LIVE FOR LIFE to host seven stops across Duke areas Oct. 7-27

Throughout October, Duke employees can get personalized insight into their health and wellness.

Between Oct. 7 and 27, LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke’s employee wellness program, is bringing a roving Wellness Expo to seven locations across Duke’s campus and Durham. Stops include Erwin Square, Smith Warehouse and University Tower.

During each event, Duke experts will be available to discuss plans to improve physical, mental and social wellbeing. At the Oct. 22 stop at the Duke Medicine Pavilion, free flu vaccinations and health assessments will be offered for employees with a valid DukeCard ID.

New this year, LIVE FOR LIFE will offer an online component where faculty and staff can find information and wellness resources covering a range of topics from staying healthy during flu season to the Duke Alzheimer’s Family Support Program. The website also offers a template to create a desired “dream list” to help set employees on the path to reach their own goals.

“Even though we’re traveling across Duke, we know not everyone will be able to join us,” said Nicholas Beresic, health promotion manager with LIVE FOR LIFE. “That’s why we want to be able to offer an easy way for all employees to take advantage of expertise from across Duke and find information important to their needs.”
