Welcome to the Week at Duke in 60 Seconds.

This week, Duke is celebrating the opening of two new spaces. One is called The Bullpen, a collaborative hub in Downtown Durham that’s sponsored by the Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship program.

The other new spot is The Foundry in Gross Hall, which features tools, workbenches and meeting spaces where student teams can construct and test prototypes.

Last weekend, hundreds of Duke students and employees gathered for the Potato Drop, where they prepared thousands of bags of potatoes for local charities.

Looking for something free and fun to do this weekend? Sunday night, you can catch the Duke Symphony Orchestra’s pops concert of Broadway hits on the East Campus quad.

Finally, four Duke grads are kicking off their teaching careers by living in the Duke TeachHouse. The new teachers and their two mentors all work in local public schools and after work they can collaborate in their shared living space.
