What better way to explain surface tension to a bunch of middle school kids than to play with food coloring and detergent?  As part of the recent NC Science Festival, Devyn Gillette of Duke's Office of Biomedical Graduate Diversity  explained an experiment called "Tie Dye Duke" to a group of students participating in US2020 STEM expo. The Duke activity was voted the favorite demo by the kids who attended. (Photo courtesy of Devyn Gillette)
