Alumni Return to Duke for Reunions Weekend

More than 4,100 alumni and guests enjoyed a sun-splattered weekend during Duke Alumni Association’s 2015 Reunions on April 17-19. The crowd, the largest ever at a Duke reunion, engaged in time-honored traditions such as class parties and affinity-group gatherings, but this year’s event also featured some new options. On Friday night, Cameron Indoor Stadium was turned into a pulsing nightclub full of electric light and creative flourishes, while Wilson Gym became a bluesy, upscale hangout. Alumni such as Duolingo cofounder Luis von Ahn ’00, Hollywood reporter Dave Karger ’95 and former presidential aide Reggie Love ’05 spoke about their careers, while members of the Class of 1990 held a series of TED-style talks to showcase their classmates’ achievements since graduating from Duke. Combined, the classes contributed more than $15.1 million to the Duke Annual Fund as part of Reunions fundraising.
