Duke staff and faculty are invited to share their college photos for a new Throwback Thursday (#TBT) project. From top left, clockwise, are recent participants Nancy Andrews, dean of the Duke University School of Medicine and vice chancellor for academic affairs; Li-Chen Chin, director of intercultural programs for Duke; Keith Lawrence, Duke’s executive director of news and communications; and Paul Grantham, assistant vice president in the Office of Communication Services.

It’s time to dig forgotten scrapbooks and yearbooks out of the attic, scroll through Facebook photo albums, and take a trip down memory lane. Duke employees are invited to submit their college photos to Working@Duke for its Throwback Thursday (#TBT) project, which highlights the higher education experiences of Duke faculty and staff. On Thursdays on Working@Duke’s Twitter and Facebook pages, the editorial staff is sharing Duke employee college photos and stories, to include information about area of study, extracurricular activities and more.Sue Wasiolek, Duke’s assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students, recently shared a photo of herself as a fourth-year Duke student in 1977 at Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Wasiolek lived in Broughton House, now called Marquis, as an undergraduate and majored in science education/pre-med.“My time at Duke as an undergrad was very difficult, both academically and socially,” Wasiolek said. “I struggled on all fronts and found great comfort in my residential experience. As a result, when I went to graduate school, I decided to apply to be a resident adviser. I was fortunate enough to be accepted and found this role to really make a difference for me.”Have a photo to share, or do you know someone in your department who would make a good Throwback Thursday candidate?
